The Church of St Leonard in Thrybergh is a Grade II\* listed medieval parish church with origins stretching back to the 11th and 12th centuries.
Its architectural development reflects several key phases of English ecclesiastical history: the nave is Norman in origin, the chancel was rebuilt in the 14th century, and the tower and spire were added in the 15th century, giving the church its distinctive silhouette.
Over the centuries it has undergone careful restoration, notably in 1871 and 1894, preserving its Gothic stonework, tracery windows, and historic churchyard.
Today, it stands as one of South Yorkshire’s most significant heritage landmarks, embodying nearly a thousand years of local worship, craftsmanship, and community history.
